Would you believe me if I told you this result was achieved without filler? ✨ This result was achieved by treating a gummy smile alongside a lip flip. The levator labii superioris alaeque nasi (LLSAN) and levator labii superioris (LLS) are two of the main muscles responsible for lifting the upper lip when you smile. When they’re overactive, they can expose more gum tissue than you’d like. By carefully relaxing these muscles, the upper lip doesn’t elevate as high. For the lip flip, the orbicularis oris (the muscle surrounding the mouth) is gently relaxed. This allows the upper lip to subtly roll outwards, making more of the pink lip visible and creating the appearance of a fuller lip without adding any volume. Every smile is unique.
